Who we are

We are a community of ordinary people of the Inner West who, together, are discovering what it means to know Jesus and live his way through the transforming love of God, for His glory.

Our Vision

To see God’s love transform people, growing the kingdom powerfully throughout the Inner West, filling churches with people eager to understand and apply the gospel.

Our Values

Gospel

The 'Gospel' is the good news that through the death and resurrection of Jesus, God has redeemed and is renewing the world. When we believe and rely on what Jesus has done for us, we are called to be part of God’s purpose by living lives of love and grace.

Love

God is taking sinful people and transforming us by his love, creating a radically new identity, liberating us from simply living for ourselves, to living for His eternal purpose.

Community

The Gospel creates a community where we can know God and His love, and serve each other as we learn to live His way. Our church community gives us as an imperfect taste of His coming kingdom. The Gospel unites us a community in a way that allows us to delight in our different gifts, roles, experiences and styles.

Mission

We are in an exciting mission field and are committed to establishing new churches throughout the Inner West. We know we can’t win the Inner West for Christ on our own and will actively partner with others to achieve this.
We love the place where God has put us and see his goodness around us in many ways, and long to make a difference through intentional service and by challenging the idols of our culture with the Gospel.

Humility and Heritage

The Gospel teaches us to look humbly at ourselves, remembering that although God may have blessed us with all sorts of gifts, we don’t have all the answers and don’t always get it right. We are conscious that we follow generations of Christians who have thought deeply about the Bible, and that we have the rich inheritance of their faith and wisdom on which to draw.

Our DNA

We teach the Bible to equip and inspire

We recognise the Bible as the inspired word of God and value teaching and training that demonstrates how the Gospel needs to shape all our life and actions. As we grow in our understanding of the gospel, it inspires us to serve God and others.

We strive for humility

The Gospel teaches us to look honestly at ourselves, remembering that although God may have blessed us with all sorts of gifts, we don’t have all the answers and don’t always get it right. We know that we are reliant on God and not on our own abilities and see prayer as an important part of affirming our dependence on God.

We love the Inner West

We love the place where God has put us and see his goodness around us in many ways, yet we know that it could be much better and long to make a difference through intentional service and by challenging the idols of our culture with the Gospel.

We promote unity and value our differences

The Gospel alone is our identity as a community providing a unity that allows us to delight in our different gifts, roles, experiences and styles. Likewise, we recognise that God has made males and females equal but different and that, through Christ, we have complementary roles in the church community.

We respect our heritage

We are conscious that we follow generations of Christians who have thought deeply about the Bible, and that we have the rich inheritance of their faith and wisdom on which to draw. We greatly value the theological tradition and heritage of the Presbyterian Church of Australia.
